The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on and commercially astute Head of Operations to lead GIIB's end-to-end insurance broking operations. This senior leadership role will translate business priorities into reliable execution, strengthen service delivery and controls, and build a scalable operating model that supports growth, customer satisfaction and profitability.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Officer, senior management, business teams, insurers and internal functions to ensure disciplined execution across the insurance lifecycle.
Role Purpose
To lead and manage the overall insurance broking operations of GIIB, ensuring efficient business execution, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability and adherence to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations across insurance broking, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, claims coordination and customer servicing.
- Establish robust processes to improve operational efficiency, turnaround time and service quality.
- Drive coordination between sales, operations, insurers, customers and internal support teams.
- Monitor business performance, operational KPIs, pending transactions and service-level commitments.
- Ensure proper documentation, process controls and adherence to IRDAI regulations, company policies and internal compliance requirements.
- Identify operational gaps, reduce errors and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Support management in achieving business growth while maintaining profitability and operational discipline.
- Lead, mentor and develop the operations team and establish clear accountability.
- Develop MIS and management reports highlighting business performance, productivity, receivables, renewals, claims and operational bottlenecks.
- Work closely with the Principal Officer and senior management on process improvement, risk management and strategic operational initiatives.
Requirements
A hands-on insurance operations leader with strong knowledge of general insurance/broking operations, excellent team-management skills and the ability to convert business objectives into disciplined execution. The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
